We can help you take better photographs of residential and commercial properties. We train individuals and groups in Leicestershire, the UK East Midlands (Northampton, Nottingham and Derby) and have run courses all over the UK.
We also provide bespoke digital photography courses, which cover composition and lighting techniques in property photography, the technical aspects of photography (exposure, depth of field etc.) and what to do with the images once you have transferred them out of the camera (image processing in Photoshop, using images for both web and print).
Our training is always tailored to fir your particular organisational needs.
With our extensive experience of colour management issues, we can also help you address more fundamental problems with colour images in printed brochures and newspapers.
We can also provide you with specialist VR (virtual reality) photography training.
If you want group tuition and photography training, we provide seminars for any number of participants.
For individual and small group training (2-3 people) we can visit empty properties with you and provide hands on training and guidance.

VR photography training for interiors and exterior use
Northlight provides a range of VR (Virtual Reality) and panoramic photography services, such as 360 virtual tours - This is specialised work and require a not inconsiderable investment in equipment and VR software (such as Stitcher Pro).
Why pay someone else to produce VR tours and the likes for you?
We can help show you the techniques and equipment for producing VR movies of properties, and help you save money by creating them yourselves.
We can provide training in this specialist area - please contact us directly for more information (Note that this is not part of our normal Estate Agent photography training courses)
How long are our photography training courses?
Since our estate agent photography courses are customised to your requirements, it all depends on what you want to learn and your existing skill levels. We have provided courses from two hours to three days.
For a small group, a full day course might consist of 'classroom' type work at the start, a visit out to a property, and returning to study the images taken and look at how to process them in an editor like Photoshop.
For seminars, we ask that people bring along cameras (and the instruction manual, since we have not tried every single camera that's in use) and if possible let us know in advance any specific problems they may have encountered - all our courses are customised, and we want to make them as relevant as possible to the needs of those attending.
New cameras - the shot below was taken on a training day, where new staff received cameras and the key knowledge to enable them to go out and start producing high quality property photography.

Of course it takes practice, but Northlight's training courses are aimed at instilling the basics of how to take good photographs, and giving your staff the expertise and confidence they need.
- Note - we don't sell cameras or software, but we are happy to suggest different options that fit your business needs and budget.
How many people can attend?
Intensive courses are aimed at individuals, or 2-3 people at most. The training is very much hands-on, so you will be taking lots of photos and working on them.
For conferences and exhibitions we can fill any time slot you want and have addressed audiences of several hundred.
The picture below was taken at a recent half-day training seminar for eight estate agents. We look for a maximum of 12 for seminars.
The image on the screen is the kitchen example from above (biscuits not supplied by us... :-)

Keith Cooper has actually spoken to audiences of over 400 people when a university lecturer and conference speaker, so if you want an interesting presentation for a conference or training event, then just ask...
What about afterwards?
If you have been on a Northlight Images training course, we are happy to answer technical questions and clear up any related issues you might have about the course materials.
We know that often, people have plenty of other work to do in their jobs, and after a week or so, what was clear on the day may have faded a bit...
How much does all this cost?Precise course/seminar costs are based on duration, location* and number of people attending the course. Typical prices for a full day of training
For specific photography training we always suggest numbers are best kept to 2-3 at most, to maximise interactive involvement. Lectures and conference presentation rates depend on length of session and location. * An additional charge for travel expenses (and any overnight stay) may apply to courses outside of Leicestershire. Please note - we provide training for companies at your chosen location, however we are unable to provide training services here at our Leicester office. Course organisers and venues - please contact us directly to discuss your requirements and how we can work together. |
